Hiring a Floor Manager for Open Produce

We are looking to hire a full-time manager for our small grocery store, Open Produce. You will work closely with two other full-time managers and a part-time clerk staff of seven to keep the store running and looking beautiful. We’re looking for someone who has relevant experience and can stay at least a year, so please read below for an idea of what the job is like. We’re hoping to have someone start work by the beginning of November.

Job Responsibilities:
– You will have significant input and creative control over an independent small store. It will be your job to keep it looking great and everything running smoothly.
– You will have (joint) responsibility for managing clerks, including training, review, and hiring
– You will help curate the inventory mix, including finding new distributors and new products
– You will place next-day produce orders some evenings each week
– You will receive inventory deliveries most days
– You will perform clerk duties (stocking, working cash register, cleaning)
– You will handle some daily financial paperwork

Applicants Requirements:
– You must have management experience and customer service experience in a retail or food service environment (or, if not, convince us that this is ok)
– You must be available during daytime hours five days a week (somewhat flexible) and occasional evening hours (approx. 40-45 hours per week). Current schedule is three 10-hour days and two 5-hour days per week.
– You must be able to lift a 40-lb. box, and you must be able to climb a ladder fearlessly
– You must know how to use a computer and a phone and a pen
– You must be 21+
– We’re open 365 days a year, so while you will not have to work every holiday, but you will probably have to work some! On the flip side, we offer paid vacation.
– There is an expectation that you will stay at least 1 year

– You can keep track of a dozens of things at once and can keep your energy up over a long day on your feet
